Westside Circus is a vibrant and growing community arts organisation creating circus, performance, physical theatre, music and leadership opportunities for young people. Our core aim is to make a difference for young people between the ages of 3 and 25 from diverse social, and cultural backgrounds to access exciting and challenging programs which build confidence, promote personal wellbeing and create positive relationships both with peers and the community.
Lena Cirillo welcomed as the new Executive Director of Westside CircusLena has a diverse background in the performing and visual arts sector. She is a dynamic leader who has led the culture of focussed, productive and creative arts organisations over the past fifteen years. Lena has been a past performer, director and a participant of various theatre and circus groups. Lena is a 2007 graduate of the Williamson Community Leadership Program and is a Williamson Fellow. She has been on a number of Boards including the Cultural Arts Advisory Board for the City of Melbourne, the Midsumma Festival Board and is the current Chair of Melbourne Workers Theatre. Lena has been the CEO of organisations such as Arts Project Australia, Polyglot Theatre and the 2003 Lygon Street Festa. Lena comes to the Westside Circus from Make-A-Wish Australia where she was the Vic/Tas State Manager in fundraising and development. Lena has a Bachelor of Arts Degree - Fine Art (RMIT) and a Graduate Diploma in Arts Management (VCA). She is passionate about circus and physical theatre, the visual arts, and is excited to lead the team at Westside Circus and further build our relationships with the community.
