18yrs+ FLIGHT PREPARATION:
Aerial Conditioning and training
Circus fun with toddler and adult working together to find new ways to play, enhance balance and coordination. Circus Family introduces circus skills such as forward rolls, cartwheels acro-balance and juggling in a safe and supportive environment. For 3-5 year-olds brand new to circus who benefit from one-on-one assistance from a familiar adult.
For a smooth transition into primary-level classes, our kinder class teaches circus skills at a basic level through games and play. This is for pre-school kids aged 4-5 who are physically confident and able to participate in a class environment without the presence of a familiar adult or caregiver.
6 - 8's Foundations
An entry level class for primary school students aged 6-8 who are new to circus. The class covers a wide range of circus skills including aerials, tumbling, acro-balance, juggling, hula hoops, tight wire, walking globe, rola bola and more!
6 - 8's Progressions
An intermediate class for primary school students aged 6 to 8 who are confident in the basics and keen to build on what they’ve learned. Participants will work towards higher level circus skills with an increased focus on strength and flexibility.
9 - 12's Foundations
An entry level class aimed at students aged 9-12 who are new to circus. The class covers a wide range of circus skills including aerials, tumbling, acro-balance, juggling, hula hoops, tight wire, walking globe, rola bola and more!
9 - 12's Progressions
An intermediate class aimed at students aged 9 to 12 who are confident in the basics and keen to build on what they’ve learned. Participants will work towards higher level circus skills with an increased focus on strength and flexibility.
All Things Circus - Teen
An entry level class for teenagers who are just starting their circus journey. The class covers a wide range of circus skills including aerials, tumbling, acro-balance, juggling, hula hoops, tight wire, walking globe, rola bola and more.
Suitable for young people aged 13 and above, participants will focus on developing strength and competency across a range of aerials equipment as well as putting together sequences to build routines.
Teen Tumbling & Acro-balance
In this dynamic class, you will jump, twist, flip and learn a whole lot of cool tricks. You will also learn various acrobalance partner exercises and poses, working to develop correct techniques to build confidence in your movement while working closely with a training partner.
If you’ve been doing circus for a while and are keen to perfect some skills while developing ensemble work, this is the class for you. For those who want to take their circus engagement to the next level, participants may choose to participate in performance opportunities throughout the year. (Note: Ideally Troupe students will attend both weekly classes.)
Adult Aerials - Foundations
Have you always been keen to try aerials but not sure where to start? Then this class is for you! You’ll get to try flying on different aerials equipment while building strength and flexibility to support your technique
Adult Silks - Progressions
If you’ve mastered some basics on the silks and are keen to take it to the next level, this class will help you progress towards more advanced aerial skills while maintaining a focus on strength, flexibility and sound technique.
Adult Trapeze - All levels
A class for adults of all levels who want to learn the graceful and powerful artform of trapeze. The class will cover Single, Double and Triple Trapeze training. Students will develop strength while learning static and dynamic tricks, transitions and sequences.
Adult Tumbling - Foundations
Want to learn how to jump flip and twist? This class will help you start to build the dynamic strength, flexibility and technique to launch you on your tumbling journey, as well as introducing some basic tumbling skills such as forward rolls, handstands and cartwheels.
Adult Acro-bablance - All levels
Learn various acro-balance partner exercises and poses, working to develop correct techniques and support to build confidence in your movement. Improve mobility, strength, balance and trust in working closely with a training partner.
Adult Contortion - All levels
Looking to impress your yoga friends, need a new party trick or just want to improve your general flexibility? Get bendy with Soliana Ersie, one of Australia’s most talented contortionists. This class is for all levels of flexibility and is for people who love to stretch.
Adult Handstands - All levels
Take the journey to master a handstand, the ultimate in balance, strength and flexibility. This is for students who have a good foundation of wrist strength and shoulder strength and flexibility, either through prior relevant circus experience or other physical activities such as yoga.
MY Circus - Circus for all Abilities
Our MY Circus workshops are aimed at people living with disability, with siblings and friends encouraged to join in. They are an opportunity to try all the apparatus and enhance social skills. In the younger class, parents and carers are actively involved, whilst in the older class this can be decided on an individual basis. MY Circus classes are for all ages and run fortnightly on Sundays .
